Murray tops river drowning hotspots

THE Royal Life Saving's latest report has revealed rivers as the location with the largest number of fatal drownings.

The report revealed 924 people have drowned in inland waterways including rivers, creeks, lakes and dams in Australia in the ten years from 2011 to 2021 accounting for more than a third of all drowning deaths in Australia.
