MILDURA'S RSPCA Op Shop is calling for extra volunteers to lend a hand.
RSPCA Victoria said it was seeking additional volunteers to staff all eight of its community stores around Victoria, including at the Lime Avenue shop.
Volunteer positions are available to anyone in the Mildura region, ranging from students seeking valuable retail experience before starting a career, to senior residents looking for an opportunity to engage with their community and supporters of the RSPCA.
A team of dedicated volunteers run the Mildura shop, with all funds raised going toward supporting the organisation’s work to end animal cruelty.
RSPCA Victoria retail and e-commerce manager Stephanie Neil said after a challenging couple of years, RSPCA hoped to expand its team of volunteers.
"(We) are on the hunt for people who are passionate about helping animals in need by raising desperately needed revenue for the organisation," she said.
"Our volunteers tell us they’ve made friendships with people whom they wouldn’t have met otherwise.
"Everyone involved wants to contribute to helping animals in need and it’s a great reason to leave home every day."
The RSPCA said there were a range of opportunities, with training provided for key retail tasks including customer service, sorting goods and merchandising.
