RE-ELECTED Mildura Mayor Liam Wood says he hopes that 12 months of foundation work will be a springboard for regional growth during his second term at the council helm.

Cr Wood was unanimously endorsed to retain the mayoral post on Thursday night following a "pretty amazing" year in the demanding role.
