BRUCE Weir served on the Mildura council for more than two decades and was mayor no less than five times, but what he gave to his community went much further than that.

Mr Weir died recently at the age of 97 and his funeral was held on Friday to mark a life devoted to family, friends and the people of Mildura and Sunraysia.
