TAXI operators at Mildura airport will soon have to lease taxi rank spots to pick up fares, but cabbies say this may result in longer wait times and increased fees.

Surjit Singh, the managing director of City Taxis Sunraysia, said he believed an airport tender process which aims to lease the 12 taxi slots in front of the terminal would also unfairly restrict some drivers from earning an income.
