FORMER Merbein football star and current Collingwood team member Josh Carmichael has been involved in a car accident ahead of his AFL club's preliminary final against Sydney.

Carmichael and teammate Beau McCreery were reportedly on their way to the airport to fly to Sydney for tomorrow's match when they were involved in a crash involving up to three vehicles on the Monash Freeway in Melbourne.
