THE Barkindji people gave thanks for the water that runs through the Darling-Baaka River on National Sorry Day last Thursday.
The event was held at the Canoe Tree, a culturally significant place beside the Baaka, the Barkindji name for the river.
The event, attended by school students from the region, was aimed at raising awareness of the current state of the river.
