THE Merbein-South Cricket Club has changed its name, dropping the "South" reference and now being known simply as the Merbein Cricket Club.

It Is believed that members will now also discuss whether to change the club nickname from "The Saints" to "The Magpies", in line with the town's sporting traditions.
