GROWERS should factor in fertiliser prices that are double the historical average and expect a "tough year" ahead, a market analyst says.

Thomas Elders' Andrew Whitelaw said fertiliser prices had been at their highest levels since the 2008 and, although international prices had experienced a "substantial drop" to close 2021, he sai
