MILDURA'S annual Australia Day event at Nowingi Place on Wednesday will celebrate the achievements of three Australia Day Award winners, as well as welcoming 40 residents as the community's newest Australian citizens.

Six residents are in the running for this year's top citizen award, while two of the region's youth will vie for the Young Citizen of the Year title.
