THE Victorian Country Long Course Championships held in Mildura has been hailed an outstanding success even before the second of three days of competition had ended.

More than 550 swimmers will take to the Mildura pool over the three days, including on Monday, with the event regarded as the pinnacle event for many competitive country swimmers aged 13 and above.
