TWO types of endangered fish have recently been released into Mildura's Ornamental Lakes in an effort to protect the species.

About 600 southern purple spotted gudgeon and Murray River rainbow fish now call the riverfront lakes their home as a part of a multi-agency Mildura Riverfront Threatened Fish Nursery initiative.
