ROBINVALE-based councillor Jade Benham has been elected Swan Hill Rural City Mayor for the next 12 months following Tuesday's statutory council meeting.

It will be Cr Benham's first term as mayor and the first time the council has had a Robinvale-based mayor since John Katis in 2012.
