MILDURA eclipsed its long-time average monthly rainfall for June on Friday ahead of a possible drenching next week.

Rain has fallen on eight of the first 18 days in June, with a total of 22.2mm recorded at Mildura Airport, nudging above the monthly average of 21.8mm.

The highest daily rainfall total so far this month was recorded on Wednesday, when 5.6mm fell in the gauge.
