CURLWAA'S Abbotsford Bridge will be closed for up to 10 weeks from mid-July while NSW Roads upgrade its mechanical lift span.

The first stage of the $2 million project will begin in mid-June with night works.

From mid-July the bridge will be closed around the clock.

Motorists will face detours and have been advised to cross the Murray River at the George Chaffey Bridge.
