THE late Leonard 'Leon' Wagner, a man dedicated to the Merbein community, has been recognised with a Medal of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day honours.

Mr Wagner died in 2019 aged 73, but his wife Kay Wagner said he would have been "honoured and humbled" by the recognition.
