OUYEN Lake has been stocked with 500 rainbow trout for the first time, just in time for the school holidays.

The lake was one of almost 80 waterways across the state stocked with a total of more than 35,000 catchable-sized trout as part of a Victorian Government plan aiming to provide more freshwater fishing opportunities, particularly for youngsters on school holidays.
