PARISHIONERS will be welcomed by a new priest when Mildura's Sacred Heart Parish's services resume.

Father Matthew Thomas was appointed parish priest after Father Michael McKinnon left the parish at the start of the month.

Working in Mildura 11 years ago, Fr Thomas said he was glad to be back and had hit the ground running since he arrived.
