WHILE Mildura's Carnegie Centre is closed to the public, volunteers and staff have taken measures to ensure residents can still feel connected to local history.
Mildura Historical Society assistant secretary Judi Hyde said members had created an eight by 10 foot display, visible through the centre's window, allowing people access to historical memorabilia after Anzac Day.
"Because people could not attend a service, we wanted to make sure there was a way for people to be reminded about historic events and remember their lost ones," Ms Hyde said.
She said the display incorporated items from World War I and II including uniforms, books, soldiers sacks taken to war and information laid out to read.
"Anyone who may be up the street on business is welcome to come and have a look," Ms Hyde said.
