A MILDURA-bound QantasLink flight was forced to return to Melbourne on Thursday night after a malfunction with the Mildura Airport's runway lighting.

Airport staff were in the process of correcting the fault while the aircraft circled the airport when flight crew decided to fly back to Melbourne.
