VICTORIAN households are set to get a fourth kerbside bin under a plan announced by the State Government.

The fourth bin, to have a purple lid, will collect glass recycling separately from plastic, metal and paper recycling.

Victoria also announced on Monday it would join other states in introducing a container deposit scheme, offering refunds for recycling cans and bottles.
