MILDURA councillors have an extra month to decide whether to adopt the new kerbside bin guidelines and policy.

The guidelines set out rules and responsibilities for residents, who will receive a third, green-lidded bin for food and organics in July.

Residential properties will be able to apply for and purchase additional bins if they can prove they meet certain criteria under the guidelines.
