VICTORIAN AMCA Nationals driver Stephen Hopkins is the new South Australian champion after a stellar drive at Mildura's Timmis Speedway on Saturday.

Hopkins took the chequered flag in the final to claim top honours, finishing ahead of Michael Kiraly, who won the last AMCA race in Mildura, and two-time defending champion Tim Reidy.
