AFTER a gruelling eight-lap race, Mildura-based Callum Norton took home the spoils at the Hattah Desert Race on Sunday after overtaking race leader Jack Simpson on the race's final lap.

Simpson had led much of the race until a pit stop on lap eight when his bike refused to fire up.
