A SERIOUS leg injury to defending Hattah Desert Race champion Mason Semmens has ruled him out of defending his title.

The 23-year-old dislocated his ankle and suffered fractures of the joint after a fall while preparing for the Sunraysia spectacular which takes place on Sunday, July 7.
