SOUTH Australian sprintcar champion Matt Egel took the chequered flag to mark the first 410 sprintcars event at Mildura's Timmis Speedway in seven years on Saturday night.

Round six of the SA Sprintcars Southern Shootout Series, the first ever held outside its home state, provided quality racing on the resurfaced track, with Egel coming from fifth to claim the win.
