Outdoor expo for happy campers

THE best in caravans, RVs camping gear, accessories and more filled the Mildura Racecourse throughout the weekend.

The Mildura Outdoor Living and Caravan Expo was held over three days, with more than 30 exhibitors on site with everything from 4×4 accessories, to boating and marine equipment, caravans, trailers, roof-top tents, and campervans.

Peta Kindness, founder of NY Towel Co who design quick-drying and antibacterial towels, said it was good to get out in front of potential and returning customers.

“The people passing through are 100 per cent our target audience, our towels are lightweight and when you’re camping or travelling, space is a premium,” she said.

“We’ve had people come back who had bought from us last year, this is our second time in Mildura, and they have become return customers.”

It was the first Mildura expo for some exhibitors including Mars Campers, though branch and sales manager Adrian Murley said there had been fairly good interest from some attendees.

“It’s a bit smaller than I had expected but not everyone is a winter person, I’m certainly not, and it can be hard getting people to come out during the colder months,” he said.

“Ultimately though it’s been quite positive, it’s always good to go to these kinds of things and give people the chance to see and touch the different models.

“They’re making a big investment and you can’t expect people to just drive to where you are, we don’t have branches in every town, so we bring it to them instead.”
