From Mildura to the world: How two local sisters are changing fashion

PRIVATE jets, star-studded soirees, designer wardrobes and rubbing shoulders with A-list celebrities – it might seem like the stuff of Hollywood movies, but for Mildura’s own powerhouse entrepreneur duo Bianca and Bridgett Roccisano, it’s all in a day’s work.

The multi-millionaire siblings have dominated the world of fashion and skincare, and with the launch of their new breast-boosting product, there’s no slowing down in sight.

Following their success, the sisters spoke recently what it takes to reach the top, how they juggle their hectic schedules, and why they still call Mildura home.

Bianca and Bridgett have managed to reach a level of notoriety that many only dream about, in a pretty short amount of time.

After all, if you can throw a party that Justin and Hailey Bieber, Paris Hilton, Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox want to attend, you’re doing pretty well for yourself.

BUT life wasn’t always the glamourous experience it is now – the girls say growing up in Mildura with two strict Italian parents wasn’t exactly a walk in the park.

“Our parents have their own real estate business, and after school every day we’d walk down there and do jobs; emptying bins, filing, anything they needed done,” Bianca said.

“It wasn’t like we’d get to go home, sit under the air conditioner and wait for dinner to be ready. Oftentimes, we’d be the ones making dinner because Mum was at work,

“There was the expectation that we would pull our weight in the family, and so we did.

“Mum and dad made us work for the things we wanted, they taught us about saving and hard work; nothing was handed to us, ever.

“Honestly, I think that kind of upbringing is a massive part of us becoming who we are today, having a work ethic instilled in us so young that still stands strong today.”

It’s a sentiment Bridgett agrees with.

“The strength and resilience it takes to reach the level we have in business definitely comes from our parents,” she said.

“I was bullied during high school in Mildura and mum and dad were always there, encouraging me and lifting me up.

“They made me resilient, failure wasn’t an option, it was drilled into us that we would become self-employed from a young age, and that we would succeed.”

And from their first foray into business, Melbourne Stylists in 2011, to the launch of their own fashion label Bianca and Bridgett in 2017, cult beauty accessory Booby Tape in 2020, expansion Booby Tape Skin in 2021 and most recently, Booby Tape Boost just a few weeks ago – succeed they have.

Celebrities across the globe have been snapped in Bianca and Bridgett’s designs at A-list events, including Eva Longoria, Kelly Clarkson, Mia Fevola, Brooke Warne, Danni Minogue and Selling Sunset’s Chelsea Lazkani.

But arguably it was the Booby Tape product that truly catapulted the girls into the world of celebrity, with Ariana Grande, JLo, Dua Lipa, Gigi Hadid and Lizzo all reaching for the $21.95 “breast lift in a box”.

DESPITE Booby Tape now being on the shelves of 20,000 stockists worldwide, including Sephora, Costco, Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters, Myer, David Jones and Chemist Warehouse, the girls say they still have regular “pinch me” moments.

“You never quite get used to knowing that these amazing celebrities are using your product,” Bridgett said.

“No matter how long we’ve been doing this for, we’re still always so grateful for where we are and the position that we are in.”

Along with that respect of where the sisters have come from, there’s also an element of seeing more to do.

“We still don’t consider ourselves in a position of having ‘made it’,” Bianca said.

“We have a long way to go to be where we ultimately want to be in business, but we have those moments where it’s all a bit surreal, like when we go out and people will recognise us, that’s just mind blowing.

“Whenever I leave the house someone recognises me and shows me their boobs and the tape and that’s always so cute.”

So what’s the secret to creating and launching so many wildly successful businesses on a global scale?

The sisters say it’s simple: ‘think big’ and be willing to make sacrifices along the way.

“People couldn’t begin to imagine the sacrifices we’ve had to make to get where we are today,” Bridgett said.

“Being women in business is not for the faint of heart, it means things will be twice as difficult and you’ll face so many more barriers, but it makes the end results all the more sweet.”

“If you want to be taken seriously in the business world, your product has to look the part,” Bianca added.

“We launched our first business Melbourne Stylists with just $200, but no one would have known that had we not told them.

“Now, 13 years later, we were able to launch Booby Tape Boost with a massively exclusive event – we flew 13 influencers and socialites including Bec Judd, Nadia Bartel, Rozalia Russian, Brooke Warne and Lana Wilkinson on a private jet to Sydney for lunch at Mimi’s.

“We’ve had cash-filled pinatas, celebrities galore, and now a private jet and our product launches always create a lot of buzz in the media.”

But true to their roots, to these sisters no amount of global success is more important than family.

“We get back to Mildura every chance we get, it is 100 per cent our home and always will be,” Bianca said.

“We try to always spend as many holidays as we can in Mildura with our family, our parents always taught us that nothing should come before family and we still hold on to that today. Family keeps us grounded.

“We love Mildura, we love the local produce and we love the people there.

“Mildura has the best weather of anywhere in the world and when we’re home, it feels like we can breathe and relax a bit.”
