How to stop finding excuses and get on with exercise

IT’S not a competition.

The truth is the only one you’re competing against is yourself. If you really pay attention to your thoughts you would notice how easily you make excuses when it comes to exercise. Your brain literally tries to play tricks on you, and most of the time it unfortunately wins.

Once you’ve got an established fitness base, sure you might want to compete in some sort of competition – by all means go for it – but right now, I’m not talking to you.

I’m talking to you, the one finding the excuses. It’s OK we have all been there, and here are some steps you could possibly find help you move past this.

1. Celebrate the small wins. If you go from doing 4000 steps a day to 6000, it may not seem like much but it’s a massive 14,000 more steps a week.

Add on top doing three 30-minute workouts a week… huge.

2. Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. I heard this quote, “Comparison is the thief of joy”. Read that again. Not much more has to be said.

3. Control what you can control. There is so much out of our control right now, so focus your energy on what you can control.

These three simple things can have a big impact on absolutely turning around your fitness and health, so why not give it a go and follow along?

You might just find yourself putting a stop to your old excuses.
