Time to get serious about fruit fly

How serious are we about fruit fly? For the past three years, the four fruit trees adjoining our property have had fruit fly. Inspectors have called and assessed these trees,and nothing has been done. I have harvested my vegies and yes they are fully infected. Dot Iredale, Mildura
