Kids’ Corner September 9, 2024

At Ranfurly Primary School, we focus on respect, pride, safety, and having fun.

We show respect to everyone, take pride in our work, and always follow safety rules. Most importantly, we believe learning should be enjoyable and exciting for everyone!

In the Senior unit, students have three hours of Flexible Learning Interest Program (F.L.I.P) every week. This is a special time when students can pick from five different inquiry units to learn new things.

One of the choices is the Amazing World experience. Here, you pick a country and make a poster about all the cool stuff from that place. Another choice is to become a local tour guide. You can create a pamphlet and show people around the Sunraysia area, sharing interesting info about our region. If you like being outdoors, you might enjoy Ranfurly Active Outdoors. This option has activities that keep you active and healthy while you’re outside. You might even get to visit places like a local golf range.

Paddock to Plate is about where our food comes from. You learn about different foods and then get to make them yourself. The best part is cooking up some tasty treats in the hands-on classes.

Lastly, there’s Ranfurly Breaking News (RBN). In this unit, you can become a reporter, camera person, or editor. Using cool equipment like a green screen, you’ll create a news program about our school and community. Ranfurly students love F.L.I.P. because it allows us to direct our learning based on our interests.
