FOUR new air ambulances have officially taken to Victorian skies following an announcement by the state's Minister for Ambulance Services, Mary-Anne Thomas.

Taking place late last week at Essendon Airport in Melbourne, the homebase of the Victoria's four fixed wing and five helicopter ambulances, the new aircraft were unveiled as two Beechcraft King Air 260 and two King Air 360 planes.
