SUNRAYSIA residents have been urged to consider becoming a blood donor in the wake of a record number of cancelled blood donations in the past week.

Lifeblood has issued an urgent call for blood donors as a result of the donation drop-off with an extra 12,000 people nationally now needed to book a donation to replenish low blood stocks.
