MILDURA Base Public Hospital was abuzz on Thursday night for the opening of the new $300,000 clinical trials and research unit, on the ground floor of the specialist clinic adjacent to the hospital.

A "game changer", according to MBPH chief executive Terry Welch, the new unit will boost health care in the community and further add to the services provided at the hospital.
