NATIONAL Party Victorian leader Peter Walsh says a new hospital and increased housing for health workers will be the answer to the Mildura Base Public Hospital's increased wait times.

Mr Walsh said a report from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare had highlighted the worsening outcomes for Mildura hospital patients.
