RIVERSIDE

BEC Olsen came away with the win in the ladies nine-hole Stableford last Tuesday with 17 points.

The men contested par on Wednesday which was played in two grades.

Jason Marks had +2 to win A Grade with Graeme Southwell in second place on +1.

Alan Connolly had -1 to win B Grade with Lauchlan Highdale getting the better of Rory Nutter and George Riordan in a countback for runner-up, all on -2.

Balls: (11) down to -2.

NTPs: Zilzie Wines 4th – Rory Nutter 135cm, Cookes Pools and Spa’s 7th – Lauchlan Highdale 325cm, 12th – Peter Schroeder 135cm, Sunbeam Fruits 17th – Kendall Marchment 220cm and Good Deal Tyres 18th – SV Turaki 117cm.

The ladies played Stableford on Thursday with Janette Mason notching up another win with 39points. Chitra Rankin is never too far from the top of the list, this time collecting second place on 38 points.

Balls: (3) 35 points.

NTPs: Zilzie Wines 4th – Pat Riordan 22cm, 7th – Lisa Garioch 415cm, 12th – Janette Mason 280cm and there were two birdies on the 18th for Wendy Dawson and Lisa Garioch.

Friday’s nine-hole medley Stableford was won by Brett Harvey with 21 points from runner-up James Taylor on 20 points.

Balls: (13) 16 points.

Eagle: Paul Wilkinson on the par five 14th.

The ladies played for the Drummonds Golf Voucher on Saturday with Lyn Thompson playing the better back nine to pocket the win in front of Maree Irvin on a countback, both carded 30 points.

NTPs: Zilzie Wines 4th – Heather Klemm 328cm, 7th – Maree Irvin 1240cm, 12th – Wendy Dawson 175cm and 18th – Wendy Dawson 85cm.

With a good field of 80, three grades were required in the men’s Stableford on Saturday.

Simon Dale’s excellent 40 point rewarded him with the A Grade win from runner-up Barry Pilgram on 37 points.

A three-way countback in B Grade left Rocky Pipicella with the win with Wayne Innes in second place and Claude Dawson missing the cut by a smidge, all three on 36 points.

Brayden McGregor had a great round and a comfortable win after his 39 point put him on top in C Grade. There were four vying for the runner-up position, with all completing rounds of 34 points with Cliff Cooke being the lucky one, with Maurie Munro, Brandon Mercieca and Jacob Rodi settling for a ball.

Balls: (20) 33 points on a countback.

LAST Wednesday was a 4BBB medley Stableford with Rex Lawn and Lewis Young taking the win with 47 points from Alex Mullins and Allan Brown with 45 points.

LAST Thursday was a Stableford event: Glen Walker 34 points, Gary Bourke 31 points on a countback from Howard Hankinson (ball).

We had two visitors from Warracknabeal play with Dennis Murray winning the Mr Risky pink ball with 25 points.

Sunday was 2BBB Stableford with teams drawn on the day. Barry Quayle and Gary Bourke had 40 points with Howard Hankinson and Jeff Hatfield second on 38 points. One point behind in third place was Bill Slee and Vicki Appleton whilst Gary McNally took home the Mr Risky Pink Ball.

NTP: 17th – Howard Hankinson 400cm.
