ON Sunday, March 30, a medley Stableford was played with Chris Romeo taking the win with 42 points, from runner-up Scoffy Atkinson 40 points.

A medley Stableford was also played on Monday, March 31, with Ned Klemm on 38 points claiming the win.

Last Tuesday, the ladies played a par event. The winner was Chitra Rankin square with the card from runner-up Meg Hamence on- 1.

LAST Wednesday was a Stableford event and Jim Piper won with 36 points from runner-up Ken Matulick on 35 points.

Saturday Monthly Medal was won by Dylan Burnett 70 net from runner-up: Carlo Longeri 72 net.

LAST Wednesday the men and women played stroke.

In the men’s event Neville Tickner emerged as the overall winner with a brilliant round of 67 net, followed by Malcolm Goodieson on 71 net.

NTPs: Mark Wilson on holes 8 (275cm, Chemist Warehouse) and 12 (310cm, Lucky Dip); Graham Lohmeyer on holes 15 (ball) and 17 (349cm, Drummond Golf); Michael Hogan on hole 18 (900cm, Red Cliffs Club).

The ladies stroke competition saw Jill Gleeson take out A Grade with a 71 net, and Susan Gathercole claimed B Grade on countback with 70 net.

Saturday, 5 April – Monthly Medal Stroke

Jayden Boehm won A Grade in the men’s stroke Monthly Medal with a 68 net closely followed by Matthew Bird (70).

Mathew Burns won B Grade with 67 net, while Steve Meimetis topped C Grade with 74 net.

NTPs: Malcolm Blagus on hole 3 (289cm, Zira & Co Graphic); Bradley Steer on hole 8 (45cm, RCAM ball) and hole 12 (1180cm, Plumb Tec); Kobus Visser on hole 15 (514cm, Coca Cola); Cliff Pistorius on hole 17 ($20 voucher, T & T Wright); Nomai Pakere on hole 18 (40cm, Red Cliffs Club).

The ladies Monthly Medal saw Susan Poole claim overall victory with a score of 73 net just ahead of Faye Englefield on a countback.

Gleeson was dominant in the NTPs winning on holes 15 (35cm, Coke 6 Pack Cans) and 17 (722cm, Bobbie Ramsay’s ball); Sally Jones on hole 3 (360cm, Ron Baird ball); Deanne Davis on hole 8 (584cm, Irymple Hotel); Catherine Lanigan on hole 12 (74cm, Zilzie Wines).

In Sunday’s medley Stableford Jack Crowe took top honours with a solid 40 points, followed by Clayton Downing 37 on a countback from Jarrod Taylor.

MILDURA

LAST Tuesday the women played par with Ann Bowen winning on a countback from Jan Mierswa and Kim Ingram, all square with the card.

Balls: (5) -3 on a countback.

NTPs: 2nd Trentham Estate – Tracy Katis 502cm; 10th Trentham Estate – Ann Bowen 126cm; 12th Zilzie Wines – Gayle Rod 80cm.

The nine-hole event was won by Dawn Jackson with +2 from Isobel Westhead on -3.

On Wednesday, the men played Stableford with Simon Kelly winning A Grade with 39 points from Matt Adams on 38 points with Joseph Rocca third with 37 points.

B Grade was won by Ross Williams with 38 points from Thomas Floyd with 36 points with Keith Williams third with 35 points.

Anthony Sergi won C Grade with 39 points on a countback with Don Mc Connell with Lance Reilly third with 38 points.

Balls: (25) 39-34 points on a countback.

Friday was the Mildura Open Stableford medley which was won by Nathan Lever with 41 points from John Mock on 38 points with Gayle Ford third with 37 points.

The Mildura Jayco Open commenced on Saturday. Daily event placegetters were:

WENTWORTH

THURSDAY was the last 8.30am Stableford hit-off. With the end of Daylight Saving time we will now tee-off at 9.30am.

Thursday’s competition was won by B. Slee with 37 points from runner-up H. Hankinson on 31 points with third place going to V. Appleton on 26 points (Vicki’s first-ever ball win). The Mr Risky pink ball went to G. Bourke who also won the NTP with 125cm on the 12th.

On Sunday, a 2BBB competition was played which attracted a field of 40 players from around Sunraysia and one from South Australia.

First place went to husband and wife pair C. and A. Gurney with 44 Stableford points. Second was H. Hankinson and G. Walker with 43 points and S. and D. Plewinski struggled into last place.

NTP on the 2nd was D. Burnett with 600cm, S. Farley had 600cm on the 8th, while on the 12th P. Trevathan was 200cm from the pin and A. Gurney had 450mm on the 17th.
