MILDURA

ON Wednesday, a stableford was played.

Mike Mooney won with 40 points, followed by runner-up Graeme Kelly on 38 points and Shane Cordell placing third with 36 points.

This was followed with a 9 hole Stableford on Friday, which Cameron Williams won by 19 points, after which Carolyn McKenzie was runner-up with 18 points.

Saturday Par’s ended with John Bellon +3, runner-up Ryan Teasdale reaching +2, and Carlo Longeri third with +2.

RED CLIFFS

WEDNESDAY Men’s Stableford competition on March 19 saw a strong turnout of 33 entrants tackling the GA Course under calm, sunny conditions.

Michael Englefield claimed overall honours with 36 points on a countback, narrowly edging out David Stephens, who also posted a solid 36 points and secured the runner-up voucher. Englefield’s own prize was self-donated in a display of club spirit.

Close behind, Kyle Russell carded 35 points (on countback), followed by Matthew Bird with an equal 35. Mark Collett finished with 34 points on countback, while Lachlan Dowdy and Peter Lynch both earned 34 points each. Rounding out the prize winners was Geoffrey Smith with a score of 33.

Wednesday’s ladies 4BBB stableford saw a total of 27 players played in pairs.

The winning team of Susan Gathercole and Marg Fumberger produced a standout performance, posting 45 points to take the top prize donated by Glenys Murray and Heather Shaw. Just behind, the duo of Rose Barich and Caroline James earned 44 points and received the runner-up voucher.

Not far off the pace were Faye Englefield & Sandra Marwood with 42 points. A tight cluster of results followed, with Heather Shaw & Glenys Murray, and Christine Taylor & Robyn Hand both scoring 40 points (the latter on countback).

Other strong performances came from Lee Bottomley & Sally Jones (40), Jill Gleeson & Deb Dark (39), and Deanne Davis & Karen Bulman (38), with many more pairs showcasing excellent team play.

Saturday’s medley Stableford

A massive field of 73 players teed off for the annual Medley Stableford – Footy event at Red Cliffs Golf Club, celebrating not only golf but also club community spirit with trophies and vouchers aplenty.

Christopher Chase topped Grade A with a superb 42 points, securing a trophy donated by Teachers & Friends. Michael Morrall finished runner-up with 39 on countback.

Grade B was equally competitive, with Marinda Pistorius clinching first place with 38 points, followed by Ian Doering, who posted 37 on countback to earn runner-up honours.

The leaderboard was stacked with strong scores, including 39-point finishes from Jeffrey Scott, Brendon Lanigan, and Troy Germane. Others in the prize list were David Spencer, Graham Bailey, Roger Walder, Jason Plant, Neville Birch, and Jimmy Frangos – all scoring between 37 and 38.
