ON Tuesday, January 28, the ladies played Stableford with Carla Sherriff winning the 18- hole event on a countback from Kerry Harris, both on 35 points.

Aileen Norton won the nine-hole event with 15 points from Faye Casey on 14 points.

A Grade winner was Roberto Fuoco with 41 points from runner-up Peter Rhodes on 40 points with Jamie Lanyon third with 37 points.
B Grade was won by Robert Latta with 39 points from runner-up John Green on 38 points with Frank Crouch on 37 points.
C Grade went to Peter Briggs on a countback with Russell Reid, both on 39 points with third place going to Bruce Smythe on 37 points.

The ladies played an 18-hole Stableford on Friday with Ruth Rodi a clear winner with 38 points from runner-up Carla Sherriff on 30 points.
The Monthly Medal stroke event was played on Saturday for TWW vouchers.
Tom Crouch won A Grade on a countback from Noel Hewards, both on 68 net, with Andrew Keogh third on 71 net.
B Grade was won by the ever-green John Williams with 68 net from runner-up John Green on a countback with Garry Smart, both on 70 net.
Wayne Davis won three-way countback in C Grade from Geoff Collett and Simon Middleton, all on 68 net.

The Vets played Stableford on Monday with George Poriazis winning with 35 points from runner-up Larry Finnis on a countback with Ron Leamon, both on 33 points.

The ladies played Stableford on Tuesday, with the ever consistent Michelle Blair winning the 18-hole event with 39 points fom runner-up Kim Ingram on 35 points.
Balls: (3) 39 to 31 points.
NTPs: 2nd Trentham Estate – Michelle Blair 550cm, 10th Trentham Estate – Kim Ingram 173cm, 12th Zilzie Wines – Ann Bowen 505cm.
The nine-hole event was won by Kym Mayne with 18 points from runner-up Faye Casey on 17 points.

RIVERSIDE
IT was a sizzler on the Australia Day weekend but this didn’t seem to deter a field of over 100 golfers competing in Riverside’s annual Summer Open.
Well done to those who pushed their way around in very tough conditions.
The public holiday on Monday, January 27, was another extreme weather day, with Matt Anderson pocketing a win after a countback against Kendall Marchment, both on 38 points.
The ladies played Stableford in their ninehole comp on Tuesday, January 28 and Bec Olsen secured the win, coming out on top after a four-way countback, leaving Chitra Rankin as runner-up from Pat Riordan and Lauris Hick.
NTPs: 12th – Wendy Dawson 200cm and 18th – Chitra Rankin 347cm.
Chris O’Brien has been right in the groove with his game of late and he added another win in A Grade on Wednesday with a terrific +3.
Ashley Robinson’s +1 was runner-up after a three-way countback with Dean Vance and Michael Holcroft.
The score of the day went to Aaron Robson with +5, well and truly in front of Neil Bryant who had to wait for a countback to hand him runner-up over Goerge Riordan, both on +1.

Travis Shawcross played the par five, 11th hole perfectly leaving with an eagle.

Friday’s nine hole medley Stableford was won by Angelo D’Amico on 23 points and the next five had to battle out a countback for runner-up.
Callum Wilson was the lucky one, sneaking into second over Jamie Donaldson, Michael Pitto, Brad Winslow and Jack Hibberd, all on 19 points.

There were some outstanding scores produced in the Tankard Dental Summer Open, considering the oppressive conditions.
The winner of the Ladies Scratch event was Lee Bottomley (Coommealla) 80/86=166, runner-up Lisa Garioch 86/82=168.
Handicap: Keryn Neindorf Coomealla 73-67=140, runner-up Lisa Garioch 77/73=150 on a countback from Lee Bottomley 72/78=150.
The men’s competition was contested in three grades.
A Grade Scratch: Jacob Slimmon 70/74=144, runner-up Ash Whitehouse 74/73=147.
B Grade Scratch: Max Marks 86/84=170, runner-up, after a play off Rob Garioch 84/86=170.
C Grade Scratch: Jack Hibberd 94/94=188, runner-up Wayne Sievewright 96/94=190.
A Grade Handicap: Jacob Slimmon 69/73=142, runner-up Alex Spooner 74/71=145 on a countback from Joel Doherty 73/72=145.

The ladies daily comp on Saturday saw Lee Bottomley winning on 80/72 in front of Keryn Neindorf 95/73.
Keryn Neindorf set the course on fire with her 68 net (89 off the stick), to win in the Sunday daily event from Lisa Garioch 82/73 in second place.
Balls: 76 net.

Saturday’s men’s daily comp played in three grades was highlighted with the winners of each grade all on 69 net.
Jacob Slimmon had a terrific 70/69 to win A Grade after a countback with Josh Fleming on an equally great score of 73/69.
The B Grade winner was Rocky Pipicella 82/69 in front of runner-up Andrew Forbes 83/70.
Gavin Jackson was a comfortable winner of C Grade with 93/69 from runner-up Jack Hibberd 94/72.
Balls: 75 net on a countback.

Sunday’s men’s results saw Josh Furey (Coomealla) put together a winning round in A Grade with 75/69 from Shaun Hollingworth runner-up on 79/70.
Max Marks was the B Grade winner on 84/70 after a countback with Greg Barila 86/72.
Gary Van Steenis had the top score in C Grade 97/71 in front of runner-up Jack Hibberd 94/73, who came out the better of a four-way countback with Todd George, Wayne Sievewright and Jake Garraway.

A MEDLEY par event was held last Wednesday, with Alex Mullins emerging as the A Grade winner with a score of +3 with Deanne Davis runner-up In B Grade, Allan Brown claimed victory on countback with square from Mark Harbottle runner-up on a countback.

The C Grade winner was Allan Brown with 38 points with Megan Phillips runner-up with 36 points.

WENTWORTH
THE ongoing hot spell continues to affect our numbers on competition days but there is a hardcore group of keen members who still continue to play in the adverse conditions.
Thursday’s Stableford was a non-event asonly three players turned up but they still had a round.
Sunday’s Stableford was played in hot conditions, though all players were back in the airconditioned clubhouse by 12.30pm before the high temperatures.
Paul Schmidt played above his handicap to win with 38 points on a countback from Max Hodges.
Third place and the ball went to captain Bill Slee on 33 points.
Vicki Appleton’s 26 Stableford points earned her the pink ball.
