WENTWORTH
A STABLEFORD event was played on Thursday with a good turnout of golfers.
Michael ‘Cookie’ Cook won the day and the dollars with 37 points from runner-up Bill Slee on 36 points with third place and a ball going to Barry Quayle, one point behind with 35 points.
Mr Risky went to Howard Hankinson on 23 points.
NTP went to Barry Quayle with 600cm on the 17th.
Tee-off is at 8.30am at the latest due to the hotter weather, so that golfers are back in the clubhouse by 12.30pm.
Bring plenty of water and use the complementary sunscreen around the course.
MILDURA
ON Monday, January 20, the veterans played an 18-hole Stableford competition with George Poriazis (9) winning with 38 points on a countback from runner-up John Williams (14).
On Tuesday, January 21, the ladies played Stableford.
The nine-hole winner was Cheryl Heathcote (47) with 22 points from runner-up Kym Mayne on 13 points.
Winner of the 18-hole event was Michelle Blair (18) with 45 points from runner-up Helen Treacy (23) on 35 points.

B Grade winner was Chris Szigeti (16) with 44 points from runner-up Bob Briggs (15) on 39 points.
Third place went to Mathias Moisidis (16) with 38 points.
C Grade winner was Bob Bettess (20) with 44 points from runner-up Ron Rowse (24) on 39 points.
Third place went to Rhory Adams on 37 points.

Sunday’s Australia Day four-person Ambrose was sponsored by the South Mildura Football Netball Club.
Winners were Matt Adams, Rhory Adams, Nick Reck and Cruz Reck with 62/49 net from runners-up were Chris Bush, Shannon Bush, Cooper Bush and Carter Bush with 71/52 net.

RIVERSIDE
RIVERSIDE will be holding its annual Tankard Dental Summer Open this weekend with morning and afternoon time slots.
This open event has always been very popular and will fill quickly, contact the club to book a tee time.
On Monday, January 20, Lucas Chiswell left with a smileon his face after his excellent 41 points gave him the win from runner-up Oliver Cooper with 40 points.

Shaun Hollingworth topped his day off with an eagle on the par five 2nd hole.

Roz Nash was the winner of the ladies nine hole comp on Tuesday with 22 points over runner-up Bec Olsen with 19 points.

There was also a Junior Bash on Tuesday, with Lachlan Smith’s 38 points landing him a win over Mitchell Cooper on 35 points.
It was Stableford for the men and visitors on Wednesday played in two grades.
Claude Dawson has been running hot of late and didn’t disappoint finishing with 38 points to collect the A Grade win over Tom Colbert on 37 points.
Wayne Innes won B Grade with 36 points from runner-up Ken Upton on a countback with Xavier Erskine, both on 35 points.

Friday’s nine-hole medley Stableford needed a countback which handed Chris Romeo the win over Bodan Bishop, both on 22 points.
On Saturday the men contested their Monthly Medal played in three grades.
Larry Cavallaro had a terrific score of (79/71) and was rewarded with the A Grade win.
A four-way countback saw Alex Spooner (75/72) take runner-up in front of Alan Gourlay, Daniel Slorach and David Williams.
Claude Dawson notched up another win (82/69) to take out B Grade with another countback required for runner-up, which Reece Godfrey (91/72) grabbed over Luke Bergens.
With countbacks the flavour of the day, C Grade winner, Jake Garraway (106/74), used his luck to take the win from Ken Upton (94/74) and Jack Hibberd was left to ponder.

Riverside served up the lamb for lunch as well as the trophies on Australia Day in the Lambrosed / Ambrose in threes, thanks to Mildura Meat Co, Wagners Butcher and J.R.
Butcher Irymple, as well as GBM contributing to a great day.
First place went to the team of Mal Kalms, Cooper Kalms and Brent Symons with a magnificent (55.16 net).
Simon Dale, Alan McMaster and Daniel Jones came in second (55.33 net) and Nathan Darby, Roberto Fuoco and Michael Wade were in third place (56.83 net).
The winning team in the mixed section went to Salli Fox, Stephanie Ryan and Stephen Ryan (Canberra) (63.3 net).
