Wentworth

The past few weeks comps have been affected by hot weather and the Festive Season but the days we have played have been well patronised.

We now tee-off at 8.30am at the latest, until further notice, due to the hotter weather.

Also our Committee have decided that, when the forecast temperature on a comp day is bloody hot, then we will offer our members free use of our Golf Carts.

Hopefully we can take some heat stress away from our keen golfers… but above 38 then no golf.

Thursday the 19th December we played Stableford and with a good field of players.

Winner was Bill Slee back to finding some form on 29, with Glen Walker sneaking up behind on 28. Woody Woodruff won the ball coming third on 25. No NTP recorded. New player Gary McNally saluted Mr Risky with 12 points-good to see a new face at Wenty Gary, we look forward to welcoming you back.

Sunday 22nd we played our usual Stableford comp. And this time Woody Woodruff won the chocolates ($$$ actually) with 35 on a countback from Howard Hankinson, who enjoyed a cold beer. Third winning the ball was Gary Clarke- a long way to come from Pooncarie just to take a golf ball home!!! Good on ya’ Clarkey! Mrs Risky was Vicky Appleton and NTP was Mr Golf, Paul Schmidt with 9.5m on the 17th.

There was no golf on Boxing day.

Sunday the 29th we again played Stableford and ‘Morkle/Cooky’-call him what you want, even Mick Cook, well he won the $$$ with 34 points despite showing us how to lose a ball over the levee bank and wiping the 18th!! Well done Cooky!!

Howard Hankinson snuck in to 2nd place on 30 points, one stroke clear of Bill Slee on 29. Vicki Appleton took home the pink ball again, though she is improving rapidly so look out people!! She hit some great shots on Sunday. NTP was yours truly with 570 cm on the 2nd.

Remember-forecast 38 or more then no comp golf.
