School golf day a success

JUNIOR golfers headed to Coomealla on Monday to take part in the inaugural Sunraysia Schools Golf Day.

Forty-five secondary and primary school students took the course for an 18-hole event, which is hoped to become an annual day out.

The idea of Coomealla High School teachers Chris and Shannon Bush, the event aimed to give young golfers in the region a day to play, with school representative opportunities not available this year.

It comes on the back of multiple junior tournaments established with golf clubs throughout the district this year.
