ON Tuesday, September 24, the ladies played par and Gayle Ford continued her good form by winning the event with +2 from runner-up Glenda Hiskens on +1.
The men played a 4BBB par event on Wednesday and George Moraitis and Domenic Scullino were the runaway winners with +11 from runners-up John Williams and Ross Bowen with +9. Greg Barila and Simon Kelly were third on a countback with Peter Palazzo and Wayne Mayne, both teams on +8.

Saturday was a single Stableford event and Rob Pallot’s 37 points was enough to win the A Grade event from Nick Katis on a countback with Keith Williams, both on 36 points.
Harry Williams left the field in his wake, winning B Grade with 46 points from runner-up Tony Dal Carobbo on 40 points from third placed James Pippin with 39 points.

RIVERSIDE
THE Veteran and Friends Stableford played on Monday, September 23 was won by Ian Walder with 37 points. Ron Hall was runner-up after a countback with Michael Baynes, both on 36 points.
Chitra Rankin put together a nice round in the ladies nine-hole stroke on Tuesday, September 24 with a net 37 over runner-up Leonie Nott with net 38.

It was par for the men on Wednesday which was contested in two grades, with Cooper Mitchell winning A Grade on a countback from Glen Walker, both on +7.
The top four players in B Grade also went through a countback with Kevin Challis taking the win in front of second-placed Nathan Dolic. Matt Highdale and Colin Johnston were pipped at the post.

RED CLIFFS
RAIN dampened the enthusiasm of golfers in last Wednesday’s event where the men played a stroke game and the ladies played Stableford.
Lachie Dowdy stormed around the course coming in with a net 63 to easily win the men’s event from runner-up Glen Martin with net 71.
Balls: Net 75 on a countback.
NTPs: 8th – Neil Wilkie, 12th – Alex Mullins, 15th – Mick Hogan, 18th – Will Callow.
Outgoing ladies captain Rita Chase had 33 points to take the win from Sally Jones with 32 points.
Sheryl Blagus won Friday’s nine-hole Stableford with 18 points from Jason Plant with 17 points.
A medley Stableford was played on Saturday and Tim Bell had 38 points to win A Grade from Glen Goodall on 37 points. Rita Chase maintained her good form scoring 37 points to win B Grade from runner-up Kaye Bingham who had 36 points.
Balls: 34 points on a countback.

This Wednesday is a medley Stableford, Saturday the men have an aggregate Stableford and the ladies will play a stroke event.
The first round of the pennant season will get under way at the Red Cliffs Golf Club on Sunday and congratulations go out to our course superintendent Darren Murnane, who has the course in tip top condition.
VETERANS
THE Vines Retirement Village single Stableford event will be played on Monday at the Red Cliffs Golf Club. With predicted good weather, and a course that is continuously improving, this event is proving popular with local vets.
Cart hire is available by contacting the club but be early to avoid disappointment of missing out.
New members are most welcome with registration at 8.30am for a shotgun start at 9.30am. Membership is open to both men and women aged 50 or more who are a member of a local golf club.
WENTWORTH
LAST Thursday’s stroke competition was won by captain Bill Slee with 95 net 76 from runner-up Pete Trevathan with 109 net 77 in a countback with Bill Murray in third place with 99 net 77.
NTP: 17th – Alan Gourlay (Merbein) 50cm.
Mr Risky went to Wayne Astbury.
Sunday’s Stableford event was called off due to inclement weather.
October 20 is our four-person Ambrose with $40 per person registration fee (includes 18 holes, lunch and snacks on completion). There is a monetary a prize of $10,000 up for grabs for a hole-in-one on a nominated par three. Registration is at 9.30am for a 10am shotgun start.
