Veterans tee-off at tournament

THE Victorian Veteran Golf Associations’ teams state titles were held at the Bendigo Golf Club last week.

Sunraysia was represented by two teams. Team one was George Mason, Ned and Heather Klemm and team two of Jeff Riordan, Lirlene Crozier and Chris O’Brien.

In all there were 38 squads competing from 15 different districts, with a total of 114 players.

On the Monday, Sunraysia’s team one finished in second place, and on Tuesday’s concluding round they were in third with 198 Stableford points, just one point behind the runners-up.

Sunraysia team two enjoyed the weekend but finished out of the placings.

The individual scores were Ned Klemm 32-33, Heather Klemm 32-32, and George Mason 38-31, for a team total of 198 Stableford points.

In team two Jeff Riordan had 32-29, Lirlene Crozier 30-30, and Chris O’Brien 23-25 for a team total of 169.
