MILDURA 

LAST Wednesday was a stroke event for Gateway Tavern vouchers.

A Grade winner was Maurice Warn with net 72 on a countback from Rob Toms.

B Grade went to Alan Steeman with net 69 from runner-up Graham Robertson net 72.

Balls: (19) 75 net on a countback.

The ladies played a 18-hole Stableford event on Friday with Jenny McCoy taking the win after a four-way countback on 30 points from runner-up Helen Treacy.

Balls: (1) 30 points on a countback.

A 4BBB par event was played on Saturday for Gateway Tavern vouchers with Fred Stewart and Rob Latta taking the win with +10 from runners-up Joe Rocca and Paul Treacy on +9 on a countback from Zaxos Demetrious and Hayden Cook.

Balls: (22) +5 on a countback.

RIVERSIDE

ROBERTO Fuoco had the winning score in the veteran and friends Stableford event on Monday, June 24 with 32 points from runner-up David Lloyd on 31 points.

On Tuesday, June 25, the ladies played a nine-hole stroke event and Adele Dal Corobbo had 38 net to take with the win.

Last Wednesday was a par event in three grades.

Dean Vance came away with the A Grade win with +4 from runner-up Michael Holcroft on a countback from Bodan Bishop, both on +3.

Lachlan Davies had +4 in B Grade to win from runnerup Matthew Bird on +3.

The win in C Grade went to Dominic Ghidinelli with +3 from runner-up Matt Highdale on +2.

Balls: -1.

The ladies Stableford on Thursday saw Lisa Garioch take the honors with 39 points in front of Suzy Conquest, two behind on 37 points.

Balls: 36 points.

NTPs: Zilzie Wines 4th – Lisa Garioch 640cm; Zilzie Wines 7th – Wendy Dawson 680cm; 12th – Suzy Conquest 76cm; 18th – Janet Luke 5cm.

Tim Donaldson won a three-way countback in the nine-hole medley Stableford on Friday with Peter Winslow grabbing second place from Oliver Zambelli third, all on 20 points.

On Saturday Heather Klemm finished with 33 points to win the ladies Stableford.

NTPs: Zilzie Wines 4th – Janet Luke 790cm; 12th – Roylene Bailey 330cm; 18th – Lirlene Crozier 37cm.

The men’s Stableford was played in three grades on Saturday, with Ryan Hawke making A Grade his with 38 points from Michael Wade on 37 points on a countback with Steven Spooner.

Roberto Fuoco picked up his second win for the week, this time in B Grade, with 39 points from runnerup Rob Garioch 37 points.

Luke Bergens had no trouble taking out the score of the week with a brilliant 46 points to win C Grade, seven points clear of his nearest rival Harvey Spratt with 39 points.

Balls: 35 points on a countback.

The medley Stableford on Sunday was played in two grades and Oliver Zambelli had 39 points in A Grade from runner-up Alexander Spooner on 37 points.

Isaiah Faulkhead made his mark in B Grade with 40 points to win from runner-up Russell Lamattina on a countback with Harvey Spratt and Duane Ebbles, all on a 39 points.

Balls: 35 points.

Jarrod Stokker played the par 5, 9th hole to perfection to finished with an eagle.

NTPs: Zilzie Wines 4th – Ian Fleming 350cm; 7th – Wendy Dawson 234cm; 18th – Jason Zambelli 155cm.

Thursday, July 4 the ladies will be playing a two-person aggregate Stableford with drawn partners … please bring along a small plate to share.

The ladies 27-hole Foursomes Championships will be contested on Thursday, July 11, to be played in two grades (entries by Tuesday, July 7).

There will also be an 18-hole optional competition.


VETERANS

A FIELD of 59 players (including five new members) contested the district Veteran Golfers Association Country Hearing Care Championship stroke round hosted by the Riverside Golf Club on Monday.

Mark Woodhouse was declared champion having scored the lowest stroke score of the day.

The A Grade scratch champion was Barry Pilgram and Ken Upton was the A Grade handicap champion.

In B Grade Janet Luke was the scratch champion and Bill Slee was the handicap winner.

Balls: Keith Willis, Gary Clarke, Wendy Dawson, Greg King, Claude Dawson, Ned Klemm, Greg Lee, Keith Williams, Gilbert Grace,Tracy Lee, Tim Nunan, Adel Dal Corobbo, Peter Dooley, David Guild and Lisa Garioch.

The badge draw winner was Peter Dooley.

COOMEALLA

Wednesday, July 3 the men play Stableford Monthly Mug and the Women stroke Monthly Medal; Friday is a nine-hole Medley Stableford; Saturday is men’s stroke Monthly Medal while the women also have a stroke event for their Monthly Award; Sunday is an 18- hole medley Stableford.

The Coomealla Senior Open Championship will be played on Monday, July 8 to Wednesday, July 10.

Last Wednesday the men and women played Stableford.

Men: A Grade winner Ivan McKenzie 40 points, runnerup Greg Rhodes 40 points, third Tim Vandenberg 40 points.

B Grade winner Ned Torpey 46 points, runner-up John Gray 37 points, third Mac Warchow 37 points.

RED CLIFFS 

LAST Wednesday both the men and women played a Stableford event.

In A Grade Jan Lloyd had 38 points to win from runner-up Robyn Hand with 33 points.

Dorothy Knight had the round of the week to win B Grade with 44 points from runner-up Deirdre Merlin with 39 points.

Balls: Marg Fumberger, Joan Ryan, Sandy Wright and Ruth Cupper.

NTPs: 3rd – J. Boyce; 8th – M. Pengelly; 12th – D. Knight; 15th – D. Merlin.

Michael Hogan was the best for the men with 37 points from runner-up Graham Lohmeyer with 35 points.

Balls: K. Evans, I. Doering, P. Knight and G. Young.

NTPs: 8th – G. Goodall; 18th – M. Morrall.

Captains Day was held on Saturday with the men taking on the ladies in a 4BBB Stableford event.

The men’s winners were Ian Doering and Paul Legg with 52 points from runners-up Reece Merlin and Brad Morgan on a countback with 46 points.

Karen Bulman and Marion Pengelly won the women’sevent with 44 points from runners-up on a countback Catherine Lanigan and Helen Wood with 41 points.

The men were victors on the day.


MERBEIN

LAST Wednesday’s Stableford winner was Ken Matulick with 35 points from runner-up Shane Trinick one behind on 34 points.

NTPs: 12th G&T Schnitzels – Mark Holding 449cm (weekly); 16th Drummond Golf Sunraysia Golf range – Tom Crouch 871cm (weekly).

Ken Matulick backed-up Wednesday’s win to take out Saturday’s Stableford event on 36 points from runner-up Ryan Teasdale with 33 points.
