LAST Wednesday’s Stableford winner was Ken Matulick with 34 points from runner–up Mark Holding with 32 points.

NTPs: Merbein Lions 3rd – Ken Matulick 710cm.

Saturday’s Adrian Rudd perpetual trophy Stableford was won by Sam Trinick with 40 points from runner-up Shane Trinick on 37 points.

This Wednesday is Stableford with tee-off from 12.30pm and Saturday is also Stableford.


VETERANS

THE next round of the district veteran golfers is a stroke event for the Country Hearing Care Championship to be held on Monday, July 1 at the Riverside Golf Club.

Members must have played a minimum of two games since our last AGM to be eligible.

The cost of events has increased to $25.

As electronic banking is unavailable, correct cash would be appreciated when registering.

Members are advised to wear their badge and check online at the Golf Australia website for your handicap.

Badges for members who recently joined are available at the registration table.

Registration will be from 8.30am with the captain’s address at 9am for a shotgun start at 9.30am.

THIS Wednesday is Stableford; Friday is the 12-hole President’s Port medley Stableford; Saturday is golf shirt stroke; Sunday is an 18- hole medley Stableford.

Last Wednesday was a medley Stableford and the A Grade winner was Justin McPhee with 39 points from runner-up Mark McDonald 38 points and third was Darryl Laird 36 points.

B Grade winner Mark Cleary 38 points, runner-up Gerard Chapman 36 points, third Lachlan Davies 35 points.

C Grade winner Pat Murphy 41 points, runner-up John Gray 37 points, third Luke Shelly 37 points.

MILDURA

ON Tuesday, June 18, the women played a Stableford event.

The nine-hole event was won by Mavis Clinch with 13 points from runner-up Isobel Westhead with 11 points.

Tracy Katis won the 18-hole event with 34 points from runner-up Sandra Hutchinson on 33 points.

Ball: (4) 34-32 points.

Last Wednesday was the Dockside Cafe vouchers aggregate Stableford event played in pairs, with John Green and Paul Treacy taking the win with 74 points from runnersup Nigel Ingram and Robin Hubble on 73 points.

The ladies played a Stableford event on Friday with Kate Maloney taking the win with 32 points from runner-up Jenny McCoy on 30 points.

A Stableford event was played on Saturday for Dockside Cafe vouchers.

A Grade: Winner Cameron Kane 39 points, runner-up Jeffrey Giddings 37 points on a countback from Tom Crouch.

B Grade: Winner Frack Crouch 36 points, runner-up Julian Maloney 35 points on a countback from Rob Donaldson.

C Grade: Winner Oliver Zambelli 37 points, runner-up Luke Stafford 36 points on a countback from Nigel Ingram.

The vets played Stableford on Monday with Keith Williams taking the win with 39 points from Greg Rhodes on 37 points on a countback from Robin Hubble.

RIVERSIDE

ON Tuesday, June 18, the ladies played a ninehole Stableford event with Bec Olsen scoring her first individual win with 17 points.

NTPs: 12th – Bec Olsen 410cm; 18th – Meg Hamence 274cm.

Last Wednesday was a stroke event played in two grades.

The best score for the day went to Ryan Hawke (81/68) but not before a countback with Lachlan Highdale (93/68).

President Michael Holcroft (77/69) won A Grade on a countback from Dom Scullino (87/69).

Lauchlan Highdale (93/68) collected the B Grade win from runner-up Peter Welling (99/70).

Ball: 73 net on a countback.

Janet Luke won the ladies Stableford on Thursday with 36 points from runner-up Wendy Dawson on 35 points.

Friday’s nine-hole medley Stableford was won by Reece Plummer with 23 points from runner-up Peter Gourlay on 22 points.

Wendy Dawson kept her good form going, picking up the win on Saturday in the ladies stroke (93/70) with Kathy Ridley in second place (95/71).

Ball: 72 net.

NTPs: Zilzie Wines 7th – Pat Riordan 660cm; 12th – Lirlene Crozier 23cm; 18th – Lisa Garioch 7cm.

It was the Monthly Medal for the men on Saturday played in three grades.

Andrew Dewell took the A Grade medal (81/68) from runner-up on a countback Barry Pilgram (80/68).

Joel Doherty had the best score of the day to win the B Grade medal (79/64) from runner-up Ned Klemm (87/69).

A countback between Neville Cooke (104/ 70) and Nathan Walder (105/70) in C Grade saw Neville grab the medal.

Ball: 74 net on a countback.

Sunday’s medley Stableford was played in two grades and Joel Doherty was still running hot, smashing out another winning score to win A Grade with 40 points from runner-up Mick Innes with 38 points.

The B Grade win went to Fletcher Ryan with 38 points over runner-up Dominic Ghidinelli after a countback from Rick Hayes, both on 37 points.

Ball: 33 points on a countback.

NTPs: Zilzie Wines 4th Joel Doherty 146cm; 7th – Andrew Thomas 240cm; 12th – Duane Ebbels 362cm; and 18th – Andrew Thomas 220cm.


RED CLIFFS

LAST Wednesday the men and women played Stableford.

Michael Snadden won the men’s event with 41 points from runner-up Jeff Scott with 36 points.

Ball: Michael Hogan, Michael Englefield, Neville Birch, Peter Lynch and Alex Mullins.

NTPs: 8th – J. Scott; 12th – R. Hand; 15th – G. Bettess; 17th – M. Hogan; 19th – J. Scott. Jan Lloyd won the women’s A Grade with 38 points from runner-up Faye Englefield with 34 points. In B Grade Ruth Cupper had 37 points to win and Biddy Pitt had 36 points to be runner-up.

Ball: Helen Wood, Marion Pengelly, Denise Morgan, Glenys Murray and Deidre Merlin.

NTPs: 3rd – C. James; 8th – K. Geddes; 12th – J. Lloyd; 15th – B. Pitt; 17th – R. Cupper.
