The ladies nine-hole Monthly Medal stroke and putting competition on Tuesday, March 29 was won by Mavis Clinch (37) with 35 net from runner-up Faye Casey (38) on 40 net.
The 18-hole Monthly Medal for stroke and putting was won Margaret Morrison (23) with a net score of 74 on a countback from runner-up Jenny McCoy (29).

On Wednesday the men played a single Stableford event with 85 players taking to the course. B Grade winner was Peter (Hooley) Dooley (24) with 37 points on a countback from runner-up Boof Ferguson (17) also on 37 and third place went to David McPhee (17) with 34 points.

A good field of 104 players took to the course on Saturday for a single Stableford event in three grades. A Grade winner was Rob Morgan (9) with 41 points on a countback from runner-up Nick Katis (12) and third place went to Rob (Jex) Donaldson (14) on 38 points. B Grade winner was George Szentpaly (18) with 43 points from runner-up Ross Williams (18) with 38 on a countback from Daniel Tankard (20). C Grade winner was Anthony Dakis (27) with 37 points from runner-up Bob Latta (26) on 36 points. Third place went to Peter Hahn (28) 35 points.

VETERANS
THE Merbein Golf Club will host the Vines Retirement Village Stableford event for the Sunraysia Veteran Golfers Association on Monday, April 8.
New members are most welcome and it is a simple process – attend one of our events and register on the day.
You need to be 50 years of age and have a current Golf Australia handicap. A joining fee of $10 covers local and state memberships of the Victorian Veteran Golfers Association and the Sunraysia and District Association. There is an additional $5 for your badge which will be available at the next event you attend. Both men and women are welcome and you will be given a syllabus for 2024. Each monthly event costs $20 which includes green and competition fees and lunch.

ON Wednesday the men played stableford and Paul Dominelli won A Grade with 39 points from runner-up Mal Goodieson with 35 points.
In B Grade Kevin Jones won with 34 points on a countback from runner-up Gill Grace.

In C Grade Marg Fumberger had 39 points to win from runner-up Paul Clyne with 36 points.

ON Monday, March 18 a Stableford event was played and a countback was needed to give John Denman the win over Ivan McKenzie, both on 37 points.

The ladies nine-hole Stableford event played on Tuesday, March 19 was won by Adel Dal Corobbo on 18 points.
The only NTP came from Carol Benning on the 4th with 1699cm.
Last Wednesday the men played stroke for their monthly award with Michael Holcroft having the best score for the day with 78/70. The A Grade fell in favor of Brendan Bower after he shot 88 off the stick for a 72 net.
Graeme Southwell picked up second place with 83/73. Peter Welling scored 105/75 in B Grade for his win from runner-up Ken Hornsby on 94/76.

The men’s A Grade Monthly Medal winner on Saturday was Leigh Fuller with 76/73 after a countback with Josh Fleming on 78/73. Joe Lando left with the B Grade medal 86/71 with Aaron Baynes runner-up on 92/72. The winner in C Grade was John Delorenzo 104/72 in front of John Denman on 98/75.

Billy Beckwith had a comfortable win in A Grade on Sunday with 37 points. Nathan Darby grabbed the runner-up, but not before a countback with Steven Batchelor, both on 34 points. The luck was running in Isaiah Faulkhead’s favor after a three-way countback in B Grade, with Rory Kelly picking up second place, which left Cooper Mitchell in the ball count, when all three finished on 37 points.
