MONDAY’S veterans 18-hole Stableford held on February 26 was won by Brian Bird (12) with 38 points from runner-up Tony Dal Corobbo (27) with 35 points.
Third place went to Ron Leamon (18) with 34 points.

Tuesday’s ladies nine-hole competition held on February 27 was won by Janet Fumberger (35) with 18 points. The ladies 18-hole competition winner was Dora Stewart (21) with 37 points on a countback from runner-up Jan Mierswa (24).
Last Wednesday’s Stableford competition was played in the morning, as forecasted scorching temperatures prevented any play in the afternoon, so there was only enough players for one grade.
Winner was Ben Callaghan (14) with 37 points on a countback from runner-up Paul McErvale (20).
Third place went to Steve Fumberger (9) with 36 points.

A Grade winner was Wayne Manley (9) with 39 points from runner-up Andrew Keogh (10) with 38 points. Third place went to Joe Morello (4) with 36 points.
B Grade winner was Rod Ford (19) with 36 points on a countback from runner-up Adam Bell (14). Third place went to Brett Beswick (17) with 35 points.
C Grade winner was Craig Jukes (20) with 38 points from runner-up Dennis Murray (27) with 37 points. Third place went to Robert Latta (26) on 36 points.

RIVERSIDE
THE veteran and friends competition on Monday, February 26 needed a countback on 35 points to determine the winner, with Gavin Minter taking the win from runner-up Josh Furey.
Balls went out to 31 points.
Kaye Ballentyne had a great round in the ladies nine-hole Stableford on Tuesday, February 27 with 21 points, giving her the win in front of runner-up Adel Dal Corobbo on 19 points.
Balls went to 15 points.

The ladies played a four-person Stableford Waltz on Thursday. The winning team of Verna Wakefield, Adel Dal Corobbo, Jan Hiscock and Janette Mason had a super score of 80 points from runners-up Caroline James, Lisa Garioch, Jen Leach and Suzy Conquest with 77 points.

Matt Anderson won a four-way countback on 17 points in Friday’s nine-hole medley Stableford. Brendan Bower grabbed runner-up from Paul Wilkinson and Roland Tankard.

The ladies comp on Saturday, saw two players who have been in red hot form taking the placings. Adel Dal Corobbo was the winner on 36 points after a countback with Lisa Garioch.
Balls went out to 34 points.

The men played in three grades in Saturday’s Stableford event. Brad Steer had 38 points to win A Grade, followed by a group of three players on 37 points, with Damen Southgate taking second place from David Williams and Craig Jervis.
B Grade went to Greg King on 35 points with George Riordan slipping into second place on 34 points. The day’s best score came from Isaiah Faulkhead who smashed out 42 points to walk away with a comfortable win in C Grade from Keenan Wade on 38 points.
Balls went out to 33 points.

IT was a big weekend at “The Royal” with our Monthly Medal and Par 3 Open event. Saturday’s Monthly Medal was won by Luke McLelland 85/70 from runner-up Jack Wilson 85/71.

THE 2024 season of the District Veteran Golfers got off to a great start on Monday.
A well presented course at the Mildura Golf Resort greeted the 65 participants as they contested the Forty Winks 4BBB Stableford.
Ten new members joined up: Roylene Bailey, Pat Riordan, Sandra Marwood, Suellen Nunan, Tim Nunan,Christine Taylor, Ian Doering, Heather Klemm, Mick Golitschenko, Wal Collett and Gwen Robinson.
The winning pair was Keith Williams and Paul McErvle from runners-up Tony Del Corobbo and May Smith with Percy Burns and Michael Golitschenko third from Barry Pilgrim and Gary Swallow in fourth.
