VETERANS

THE weekend rain was very welcomed by district golf clubs but its timing could have been better. The fairways and greens benefitted from a good soaking but the numbers at the Saturday competitions were down.

Our third monthly competition is unique in that the venue for our next round is at Robinvale. Robinvale will get to host two events this year rather than the usual one to allow clubs that were affected by flooding to recover.

The day is a 4BBB Stableford event to be held on Monday, May 1. The association and its members thank the club’s committee for their extra support. The course is always well presented and we always receive a warm welcome, enjoy a good meal and enjoy drinks and conversation at the 19th hole.

All the usual procedures will operate. Registrations begin around 8.30am with a shotgun start commencing at 9.30am.

Players are reminded to factor in travel time so that the event starts promptly. It’s time to organise your car pools, your partner and golf cart if required in readiness for the day.

Members need to wear their badges and to go online to check their current GA handicap.

Make sure you are a part of the Vets and show your appreciation of our district clubs by supporting and participating in a very social day of golf.

A huge thank you to our major sponsors Drummond Golf Mildura and Sunraysia Driving Range (Garth and his team), without your continued support of this club we would not be where we are today.
