VETERANS

WE have started our summer break and our weekly article will recommence mid-February, two or three weeks before we start our schedule of events in the new year.

Reflecting on the past 12 months, we have completed another successful year. Thank you to everyone for their continuous support throughout the 10 events. Members have gained an opportunity to participate in a physical activity that promotes physical and mental wellbeing. We get to develop friendships by mixing with other likeminded golfers from all district clubs.

Good attendance is important as it signals to district clubs that we appreciate how they support us. They do this by reducing costs for green fees, competition fees and by providing lunch. Good numbers allow us to convince sponsors that we are worthy of support. They contribute generously to our group and we appreciate and thank them.

This success comes about because of the work of many. Thank you to John Green for his work as our captain throughout this year and the previous six years. Thanks goes to our new captain Ned Klemm and to John Denman, Tony Dal Corobbo and Brian Young and to those who serve as committee members. I also want to acknowledge the assistance given by Janine Down who uses her skills and creativity to produce our newsletters.

Let’s keep promoting our association to ensure we continue to enjoy and share these special benefits.

Merry Christmas everyone and have a safe prosperous and happy new year. Happy golfing until we meet again next March.
